We are pleased to participate in the Ka and Broadband Space Communications and Navigation Conference, taking place in Milan on 20\u201322 October 2026, where we will present two papers addressing different challenges in satellite communications:<\/p>\n

Satellite IoT Connectivity – ASTREA<\/strong><\/p>\n

The ASTREA IoT Terminal Ku-band Direct-to-GEO Satellite Access with an Asynchronous Spread-Spectrum Air Interface<\/i><\/p>\n

Developed as part of the ESA ASTREA<\/a> project (ESA ARTES G TP, completed in 2024), this work focuses on compact IoT terminals that connect directly to geostationary satellites in the Ku band, using a spread-spectrum asynchronous access radio interface to enable affordable connectivity for IoT applications.<\/p>\n

Interference Mitigation for VDES Maritime Communications – VOCS MARLIN<\/strong><\/p>\n

In-Orbit characterisation of RF interferences and digital mitigation performance for VDE-SAT Uplink Communications<\/i><\/p>\n

Building on the work carried out in the VOCS<\/a> (ESA AT, completed in 2024) and MARLIN (ESA 4S, ongoing) projects, this article explores the radio-frequency interference environment observed in orbit and evaluates digital mitigation techniques to improve uplink reception of the VDE-SAT system in the presence of interference.<\/p>\n
