custom_padding__hover=&#8221;|||&#8221;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.9.4&#8243;]<\/p>\n<div class=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-29715 aligncenter size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mbigroup.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/M2M-communications-1024x527.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"527\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mbigroup.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/M2M-communications-980x504.jpg 980w, https:\/\/www.mbigroup.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/M2M-communications-480x247.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) 1024px, 100vw\" \/><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p><span class=\" author-d-1gg9uz65z1iz85zgdz68zmqkz84zo2qovum4j9qz79z2z71zz122zipz80zjz83zz70zosvsz85ziz70zz122ziqz72zz72z1kz90z\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mdpi.com\/journal\/sensors\">Sensors<\/a>, the leading international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal on sensor science and technology, just published our study as a special issue.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The study is the result of a long experimentation in the field and has involved numerous institutions and companies: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ebu.ch\/\">European Broadcasting Union (EBU)<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eutelsat.com\/en\/home.html\">Eutelsat<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esa.int\/\">European Space Agency (ESA)<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esa.int\/About_Us\/ESTEC\">European Space Research and Technology Center<\/a>, MBI SrL.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span class=\" author-d-1gg9uz65z1iz85zgdz68zmqkz84zo2qovum4j9qz79z2z71zz122zipz80zjz83zz70zosvsz85ziz70zz122ziqz72zz72z1kz90z\">Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) technologies are keys solutions for terrestrial 5G massive machine-type communications (mMTC) applications.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>These pioneering NOMA satellite technology developments open up the possibility of developing and exploiting 5G mMTC satellite and terrestrial-based systems in a synergic and interoperable architecture.&lt;<\/p>\n<p>This document presents the key features of the first NOMA-based satellite network, presenting not only the underlying technical solutions and measured performance, but also its implementation on Eutelsat&#8217;s satellite fleet.<\/p>\n<p>The developed solution achieves unprecedented throughput, scalability and cost of service and is well matched to different mMTC satellite use cases.<\/p>\n<p>The study is the result of years of research to implement IP-based satellite networks that enable M2M services, scalable to tens of millions of users, with simple consumer grade equipment.<\/p>\n<p>The result is a complete solution capable of intelligently routing data between different networks based on customer demands in terms of cost, latency and data volume.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_button button_url=&#8221;https:\/\/www.mbigroup.it\/en\/papers-and-scientific-articles\/&#8221;
