MBI contributes to the AXMEDIS Project
Automating Production of Cross Media Content for Multi-channel Distribution
AXMEDIS is a platform for the production, protection and multi-channel distribution of "cross-media" content. Its aim is to reduce costs and increase efficiency by automating the entire
transformation process (accessing the content management system and the database, processing, adapting, licensing, transcoding, metadating, invoicing, etc).
This application uses the rights management model also for business-to-business services. AXMEDIS enhances content accessibility by integrating legal peer-to-peer platforms. It also supports multi-channel distribution (e.g. mobile, satellite, kiosk, iTV) over a vast range of devices, such as PCs, PDAs, decoders, mobile phones.
MBI's role
MBI has the following roles as an AXMEDIS Project Partner:
- analysing solutions for satellite distribution over advanced decoders (STB)
- implementing the AXMEDIS solution for satellite distribution over STB
- integrating components of the AXMEDIS platform into its own STB middleware
- developing a push-based distribution
The Partners
AXMEDIS is an Integrated Project (IP) of the European Union's 6th Framework Programme. It is due to last 4 years and it has a total budget of over 13 million Euro.
The AXMEDIS Consortium consists of over 35 partners (http://www.axmedis.org/partners.php) that research and develop new systems based on concrete solutions.
