MBI has provided the technology to check, collate and collect data in a high-availability management system. MBI has also supplied the subsystem to validate and package the data from the various centres involved in the project. The expertise and support provided by MBI were fundamental in helping achieve the desired objectives.
Artpast
Network information application for the care and development of items of historical and artistic interest
ARTPAST's aim is to collect, computerise and standardise the electronic cards and photographs of items of historical and artistic interest and to add them to the national cataloguing database (SIGEC). The Artpast project now has almost 2 million electronic cards as well as 4 million images recorded on MBI's servers using a highly reliable security system. This project has involved more than 30 organisations.
Artpast has been created by MBI in close collaboration with the Scuola Normale Superiore university, the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and the central institute for cataloguing (ICCD).
