MBI has designed and developed the MDF platform, a flexible and efficient solution for simultaneous transmission of files in push mode, i.e. based on an Operating Centre that transmits scheduled content at scheduled times using multicast protocols.
The solution can be used with terrestrial, mobile, wireless or satellite networks. Since the satellite network is broadcast-based, it is the most suitable for multicast transmissions.
Given its features and functions, the MDF platform can be efficiently used for distributing content of any kind, format and size to a high number of devices at the same time at a low cost. In fact, the operating costs of MDF are not increased by the number of receiving terminals.
Our solution has been used for many years as the base component of the OPENSKY platform by Eutelsat, one of the world’s leading satellite operators. Using the OPENSKY platform, Eutelsat provides broadband-based services worldwide.
